The Students Carolina Association of Students council acts as a student’s organization for representation.  400 delegates form many schools and places attended the convention that was themed as Leadership a capitol idea. The convention was hosted by the Dutch Fork High School. This convention that was held at the Dutch Fork high School was the 60th convention of the Council that are among the ones those are held annually.

The topic under discussion at the seminar was leadership. The theme of the convention was chosen as “Leadership: A capitol Idea”. The convention started with an address from General Peter Pace. The General has served on a variety of posts in the defense sector of the United States. The General is the ex chairman of the Chiefs of the staff. The General has also served as the Secretary of Defense. He was also the principal military advisor of the President. He was also the sectary of the National Security Council. After the lecture on leadership the General entertained the enthusiastic questions and queries from all the assembled delegates.                                  

The second guest of honor was John Beede from the Las Vegas. He in his speech emphasized the importance of setting up realistic goals. The election of the district officers also took place after the session.

The delegates then paid a visit to the S.C State museum. The session ended on the State Fairgrounds of Seawell. The prize distribution was followed by dance and a dinner.

Mrs. Georgia Brown from the Hillcrest high was named as the Advisor of the year Dr. Marty was named as the Administrator for that year.
